Hull: on the way up!

We have seen major changes in Hull over the past few years and as many of you will know Hull is the UK City of Culture 2017; which is having a meaningful impact on the city and its reputation.

In the past there have been clear economic and social benefits from being designated as cultural hubs. Liverpool’s 2008 stint as European capital of culture generated £750m for the economy and attracted a 34% increase in tourist numbers. Liverpool is now at the forefront of the Northern cities and it is clear that Hull is on the same track.

There have been many large scale developments and initiatives to bolster Hull’s already impressive progress;

£25m spent on new roads and public walkways

£20m regeneration project to the Princes Quay

9 buildings to be given “listed status” including a public toilet!

Hull is on the rise, it is driven to succeed and the title of City of Culture is Hull’s rebirth.
